working on the office.

kitchen stuff...

since i haven't bought bread in over a month,
and since I now throw a loaf together every few days,
it's just become easier to make a little "bread making station"
this is mine.



my gluten arrives tomorrow,
i wonder what i will do with it.
i wonder if i need to rethink my plan -
though this is very handy in the moment.

my little 6.99 clock finally found herself a home...

she's on the mantle,
with a bird and a globe.
she's helping with my whole -
"don't get too antique-y" vibe.
a little bit of cool with the worn and rustic -
and dare we say tchotchke.

okay, again - ignore my camera, she's going into the shop soon.
sigh.
but check out this goodwill lamp i spray painted gold.
i'll have to get a pic during the day, it's so subtle and amazing.
(it was originally wheat and blue crockery - ick)



and because the can was out and the lamp turned out so awesome -
i pulled out a few more things to spray paint gold/brass.
this was a fail.
whereas the lamp ended up luxe and expensive looking -
this looks cheap and flat.
but i love the heigth and profile -
so if you have any color suggestions, let me know.
i'm thinking of DIY mercury glass finish with the new krylon mirror spray paint.
thoughts?

oh, and with some new pics during daylight -
i'll get a pic of my duck,
(who got sucked into my manic spraying afternoon)
he turned out awesome.
AWESOME.

ps: the lamp's switch no longer works and i'm not in the mood to rewire just yet...
so nick took one of those cheap 2-for-5bucks timers at ikea -
and hooked it up.
it pops on at 6pm and goes off at midnight.
smart boy.

new stuff around the kitchen...

we needed deep bowls,
i was racing out of walmart the other day
(i like their redbox :)
and saw these and had to stop and grab them...
and since they're from walmart - they are super cheap.
happy.



well, since i'm making all of our bread right now -
i needed some containers to store the various flours...
these are the two i use the most and keep out on the counters.
and since they were in walmart across from the little bowls -
crazy cheap as well.



and these were my birthday gifts from the in-laws.
they know me so well.
i love me some cakes stands,
and hobnails and flutes -
and bonus, they're different sizes.
love that.
picture them stacked on our open shelves -
top shelf, of course.
